DOB: 1/13/17 LA: VVV 87 ADGAgenetics Pedigree
Jude's dam, Lucienne, is a beautiful doe that has been kidding and milking all her life. She has earned her stars with both ADGA and AGS through one-day milking competitions, her last test was at 4.3 lbs. She has nice rump width, excellent fore-udder attachment, and nice straight front legs. Lucienne has a super wide escutcheon (almost looks like a square) that is also high. At 7.5 years old, her LA is impressive.
Lucienne has 3 daughters (from a different sire) who are also good producers, but not currently on milk test. Creamery Creek BZ Miss Swiss got a LA of 87 VEEV and milks 3-4 lbs. Creamery Creek BZ Claire Moon milks about a half gallon a day. Creamery Creek Coral Moon is also a good milker, easily raising triplets.
Lucienne's half sister is Promisedland Pal Macarena: 6 x Grand Champion, 4 x Best of Breed, 3 x Best Udder, 1 st place 1st udder 2 year old at 2010 ADGA National Show, 1st place 1st udder at the 2012 ADGA National Show, and 2012 ANDDA Total Performer. Her high milk test day was 4.9 lbs.
Jude's maternal grandsire is Old Mountain Farm Mithra. One of Mithra's other daughters, GCH The Betzy, milked 5.1 lbs on her high test day, as well as many other over 4 lb tests.
Jude's maternal granddam is SG Promisedland MG Frenchy, Frenchy was a fantastic milker with a high test day of 7.2 lbs, as well as many 4, 5, and 6 lb test days. She milked 1450 lbs in 305 days. Frenchy was coded overheight, but she produced several in-height daughters that continued to have high milk production, Lucienne being one of them. Frenchy's PPA (Predicted Producing Ability) is 517 (for top ten milkers, you want a PPA of 350+.)
Jude's paternal grandsire, Old Mountain Farm Bold Hart, is a paternal half-brother to Old Mountain Farm Merriment, who won ADGA Nationals in 2017, and to Old Mountain Farm Shy Elk who won her age class at Nationals in 2017 and had a high test day as a first freshener of 4.6 lbs. Bold Hart is also 3/4 related to the 2017 spotlight sale kid, Old Mountain Farm Brainstorm.
Jude's sire's mother is Bluestone Angel, a heavy producer, milking 4-5 lbs. a day at peak lactation. If you look a little further in her ancestry, you will find she is line-bred, both top and bottom, on Rosasharn's Tiger L, a sire well-known for his milky daughters. MCH Twin Creeks BH Mariri's Zinnia 4*D, 2002 National Champion and Best Doe in Show, also appears twice in Angel's pedigree.
By using Jude, we are hoping to get improvements in straighter front legs and shoulders, while keeping the high milk production and rump width already found in our does. Jude has a few moonspots, so moonspots are possible on his offspring.
Jude is way over height (OH) for the breed standard. We continue to use him because when we use in-height bucks with in-height does, we get smaller does. Since a larger animal (with good milk genetics) should be able to produce more milk, we use Jude on shorter does to give them some height and bulk. His daughter Rouelle is a good example. The appraiser both years said that Jude has a lot of nice qualities and his height doesn't discount those. His linear appraisal scores are still impressive considering he loses points for being OH.
